GETTING STARTED IN RADIO CONTROL
The following is a list of items needed in order to build and fly a "WILD WING". We make our recommendations based on cost control, parts availability and performance. You are welcome to choose any brand of radio, servos, ESCs, chargers, power supplies motors, batteries, carbon tubes, balsa, and other equipment you choose. The J250 motors may soon be a thing of the past. We will update this site as we find new motors that will work.
We suggest that if you want to learn on the buddy cord that you get the Lazer 4 as your first radio so that your radio will be compatible with the trainers. We recommend that you fly with the dual conversion receivers due to the frequent glitching problems we have had with almost all single conversion receivers.
These are tried and true suggestions. Prices are estimated from a variety of different sources including shipping costs. These internet connections will help you see the products. Most of these products will be available at your local hobby shop and we encourage you to support local retailers when possible.
I recommend you spend some time with a flight simulator. There are several available for free and for sale on line but my favorite has been a set up of the Microsoft Flight Simulator to represent radio control. For controls we have a two stick Dual Action Logitec controller. Going into the menus of the software you can set the joystick up with RC configuration.
